Ireland: Manufacturing output dives in November
According to preliminary data, the manufacturing production index decreased 3.8% in November in seasonally-adjusted, month-on-month terms, following the revised 5.7% contraction in October (previously reported: -0.3% month-on-month). November’s decline largely reflected downturns in the production of food products, as well as wood and wood products. This latest figure will likely be significantly revised next month due to the availability of more comprehensive manufacturing data.
In annual terms, overall industrial production fell 2.6% in November, following a revised 3.3% decline in October (previously reported: +5.4% year-on-year). Annual average variation in industrial output decreased 0.1% in November, following October’s 0.7% fall (previously reported: 0.0%).
