Ireland: Industrial output bounces back in August
Industrial output expanded 16.6% in month-on-month seasonally-adjusted terms in August, which contrasted July’s 20.6% decrease. The figure was largely driven by a rebound in modern sector production. In contrast, traditional sector output decelerated.
On an annual basis, overall industrial production grew 5.5% in August, rebounding notably from July’s 23.1% fall. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 9.9% in August, down from July’s minus 8.7% reading.
