Ireland: Harmonized inflation drops to lowest level since April 2021 in June
Harmonized inflation eased to 1.5% in June, following May’s 2.0%. June’s reading marked the weakest inflation rate since April 2021. Looking at the details of the release, housing and utilities prices fell at a quicker pace in June compared to the previous month, while price pressures for transportation and recreation eased.
Annual average harmonized inflation ticked down to 3.0% in June (May: 3.2%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 2.2% in June from the previous month’s 2.8%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.33% from the previous month in June, a smaller increase than the 0.59% increase logged in May.
