Israel: Consumer confidence worsens, while business sentiment eases but remains elevated
Sentiment levels dropped in June, according to data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). Consumer confidence moved further into negative territory, with sentiment decreasing from minus 7.2 points in May to minus 8.5 points in June.
The decrease in consumer sentiment reflected consumers’ more pessimistic view of their own economic situation and their ability to save. Sentiment regarding labor market developments and the economic situation in Israel was unchanged, however.
Business sentiment, in addition, eased from 23.8 points in May to 23.2 points in June.
