Israel: Consumer sentiment deteriorates in August, business sentiment improves
In August, confidence among consumers deteriorated while firms became more optimistic.
Data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) showed that consumer confidence dropped from minus 8.0 points in July to minus 12.9 points in August. This deterioration in sentiment reflected a worsening of consumers’ views of the economic situation in Israel and of their personal financial situation. Subsequently, consumers grew more pessimistic about their ability to save.
Conversely, business sentiment increased from 22.5 points in July to 23.3 points in August.
