Israel: Merchandise exports increase at a quicker pace in July
Merchandise exports jumped 21.8% annually in July, on the heels of June’s 21.2% jump. Meanwhile, merchandise imports climbed 28.6% on an annual basis in July (June: +38.8% yoy).
As a result, the merchandise trade balance deteriorated from the previous month, recording a USD 3.1 billion shortfall in July (June 2021: USD 2.9 billion deficit; July 2020: USD 2.2 billion deficit). Lastly, the trend deteriorated, with the 12-month trailing merchandise trade balance recording a USD 28.2 billion deficit in July, compared to the USD 27.3 billion deficit in June.
