Italy: Consumer confidence dips in August
The consumer confidence index released by the National Institute of Statistics (Istat) fell from 116.3 points in July to 115.2 points in August.
The result reflected weaker consumer sentiment regarding both current and future general economic conditions. On the other hand, consumers’ expectations of both their current and future personal financial situation improved slightly in August. Meanwhile, unemployment expectations worsened markedly in the surveyed month, contrasting a moderate improvement in future inflation expectations.
