Italy: Industrial output growth moderates in February
Industrial output grew 0.2% in month-on-month seasonally-adjusted terms in February, which was a deterioration from January’s 1.1% increase. Looking at the details of the release, manufacturing production growth slowed in February, and mining and quarrying output swung to contraction.
On an annual basis, factory output fell 0.6% in February, a less pronounced drop than January’s 2.1% fall and marking the best result since January 2020. Moreover, the trend improved, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 10.9%, up from January’s minus 11.1%.
