Italy: Harmonized inflation drops in February
Harmonized inflation dropped to 0.8% in February, easing slightly from January’s 1.0%. Looking at the details of the release, housing and utilities prices fell at a more moderate pace in February compared to the previous month, while price pressures for transportation picked up pace.
Annual average harmonized inflation fell to 4.4% in February (January: 5.1%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation was stable, coming in at January’s 0.8% in February.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices fell 0.07% from the previous month in February, a smaller drop than January’s 1.03% fall.
