Italy: Harmonized inflation moderates in April
Harmonized inflation ticked down to 0.9% in April from March’s 1.2%. The moderation was broad-based, with lower price pressures recorded for food and non-alcoholic beverages, transportation, and housing and utilities.
Annual average harmonized inflation fell to 3.2% in April (March: 3.8%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 0.8% in April, from the previous month’s 1.2%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.55% in April over the previous month, slowing down from March’s 1.11% rise.
