Italy: Inflation remains stable in November
According to revised data released by the National Statistical Institute (ISTAT) on 14 December, consumer prices dropped a revised 0.2% month-on-month in November (previously reported: -0.1% month-on-month), following October’s flat reading. The figure reflected lower prices for services related to recreation, and for services related to transport. These were only partially offset by higher prices for unprocessed food. Meanwhile, inflation came in at a revised 1.6% in November (previously reported: 1.7%), mirroring October’s print.
Core consumer prices, which exclude more volatile categories such as unprocessed food and energy, dropped 0.4% month-on-month in November, matching October’s decline. Meanwhile, core inflation came in at October’s 0.7% in November, and harmonized inflation dropped to 1.6% from October’s 1.7%.
