Japan: Core consumer prices continue to fall year-on-year in February
Core consumer prices rose 0.10% over the previous month in February, below the 0.49% increase seen in January.
Core consumer prices—which exclude fresh food—decreased 0.4%in February, following January’s 0.6% fall. The annual average variation of core consumer prices ticked down to minus 0.4% in February (January: -0.3%). Lastly, consumer prices for all items fell 0.4% on an annual basis in February, which was a smaller fall than January’s 0.6% decrease.
