Kazakhstan: Industrial activity contracts at record pace in July
Industrial output sank 9.6% compared to the same month of the previous year in July, which followed June’s 5.6% decrease. July’s figure marked the worst reading on record.
The notable weakening was largely driven by a deterioration in manufacturing production. In addition, mining and quarrying production fell.
Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth fell to 3.0% in July (June: +4.1%), signaling a worsening trend in the industrial sector.
