Kazakhstan: Inflation declines in August but remains in double digits
Inflation cooled to 13.1% in August, below July’s 14.0%, marking the sixth consecutive monthly slowdown but remaining in double digits. Looking at the details of the release, the slowdown was driven primarily by a softer increase in food prices.
Meanwhile, annual average inflation came in at 17.4% in August (July: 17.7%).
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.60% over the previous month in August, down from July’s 0.63% uptick.
