Kazakhstan: Inflation declines in May
Inflation cooled to 15.9% in April, below April’s 16.8%, marking the third month of consecutive decline. Looking at the details of the release, the slowdown was drive by softer increases in prices for food and housing and utilities.
Meanwhile, the trend pointed slightly up, with annual average inflation coming in at 17.9% in May (April:17.8%).
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.63% over the previous month in May, down from April’s 0.89% uptick.
