Kazakhstan: Inflation increases in October
Consumer prices increased a seasonally-adjusted 0.65% in October over the previous month, picking up from September’s 0.28% increase. October’s figure was the sharpest increase in prices since April. The uptick came on accelerated increases in food and non-food prices. However, prices for services increased at a slower pace.
Inflation came in at 7.1% in October, which was up from September’s 7.0%. Annual average inflation rose to 6.5% in October (September: 6.3%). Elevated price pressures could continue to limit the Central Bank’s willingness to ease its monetary stance.
