Kazakhstan: Inflation rises to over two-year high in April
Consumer prices rose 0.9% month-on-month in April, matching March’s result. Faster growth in prices for food were largely offset by softer increases in prices for non-grocery goods and paid services, according to the Statistical Institute.
Inflation logged 6.8% in April, up from March’s 6.4% outturn and marking the highest reading since January 2018. Annual average inflation, meanwhile, inched up to 5.7% from 5.5% a month prior.
