Kazakhstan: Composite PMI rises in September
The Tengri Partners Kazakhstan Composite Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) rose to 52.6 in September from August’s 50.5. September’s result marked the best reading since may. As a result, the index moved further above the 50.0 no-change threshold, signaling a faster improvement in private sector operating conditions compared to the previous month.
The upturn was chiefly driven a notable improvement in the services sector. The seasonally adjusted Business Activity Index jumped to 52.3 in September, from August’s six-month low of 50.2. This was chiefly thanks to pick up in new business inflows. Meanwhile, the Tengri Partners
Kazakhstan Manufacturing PMI ticked up to 52.8 in at the end of Q3 from 52.4 in August. The result was the strongest since July 2022 and came on the back of sustained increase in new business and faster output growth.
