Kenya: Inflation drops in March
Consumer prices dropped 0.19% over the previous month in March, down sharply from February’s 1.38% rise. March’s reading largely reflected a fall in the price for restaurants and accommodation services, transport, and utilities.
Meanwhile, inflation fell to 6.1% in March, down from 6.4% in February. Thus, inflation moved closer to the 5.0% midpoint of the Central Bank’s 2.5%–7.5% target range. Lastly, annual average inflation ticked up to 5.6% from February’s 5.4%.
