Korea: Business confidence among manufacturing firms improves in January
Business confidence among manufacturing firms rose to 92.0 in January from December’s 88.0. However, the index remained below the 100-threshold, indicating pessimism among businesses.
Looking at the details of the print, manufacturing firms turned more optimistic regarding sales, sales prices and external demand. Moreover, their views regarding domestic demand and profitability were less pessimistic. That said, the manufacturing firm’s expectations on raw material prices deteriorated, albeit remaining optimistic.
