Korea:
Business conditions in the manufacturing sector are expected to rise to 71.0 in February from January’s 69.0, according to a survey of manufacturers conducted in January by the statistical office. As a result, sentiment moved closer to the 100-threshold that separates pessimism from optimism among manufacturers.
The improvement was driven by stronger expectations among domestically-orientated firms, potentially linked with the recent decline in inflation; in contrast, sentiment among export-orientated firms fell for the first time in four months.
