Korea: Month-ahead business sentiment among manufacturing firms falls in August
Month-ahead business sentiment among manufacturing firms came in at 69.0 in August, down from July’s 72.0. Consequently, the index remained entrenched below the 100-threshold, signaling pessimism among businesses.
Month-ahead business sentiment rose among export-orientated manufacturing firms, potentially as a result of stronger demand from China ahead after its government outlined new stimulus measures. Meanwhile, month-ahead business sentiment among domestically-orientated firms dipped to the lowest since March.
