Korea: Consumer confidence falls in February
Consumer confidence came in at 90.2 in February, down from January’s 90.7. As a result, the index remained below the 100-point threshold, indicating pessimism among consumers.
The decrease in the index was due to households becoming more pessimistic about the current state of the economy and their future income and living standards. That said, households became less pessimistic regarding their future spending.
Consumer expectations for inflation a year ahead stood at 4.0% in February (January: 3.9%).
