Korea: Consumer confidence falls in August
Consumer confidence fell to 102.5 in August from July’s 103.2. Nevertheless, the index remained above the 100-point threshold, and indicated optimism among consumers.
In detail, consumers became more pessimistic regarding both the current and future economy, amid an ongoing outbreak of the delta variant that already led to tighter restrictions throughout July and August, while becoming slightly less upbeat regarding their spending ahead. That said, prospects on income improved slightly to inch just below the neutral threshold.
