Latvia: Harmonized inflation falls to over one-year low in August
Harmonized inflation eased to 5.6% in August from July’s 6.6%. August’s result marked the lowest inflation rate since September 2021. The figure was largely driven by softer growth in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Annual average harmonized inflation fell to 15.6% in August (July: 17.0%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 5.3% in August, from the previous month’s 6.5%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices dropped 0.54% over the previous month in August, contrasting July’s 0.76% rise.
