Latvia: Inflation increases to near two-year high in June
Consumer prices increased 0.36% over the previous month in June, below the 0.45% rise logged in May. June’s result marked the softest rise in prices since December 2020. The slowdown was largely driven by falling prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco.
Inflation came in at 2.7% in June, up from May’s 2.6% reading and marking the highest inflation rate since August 2019. Lastly, annual average inflation rose to 0.4% in June (May: +0.1%).
