Latvia: Harmonized inflation decreases in July
Harmonized inflation fell to 0.8% in July, down from June’s 1.5%. The decline was largely driven by lower price pressures for transportation, recreation and hospitality plus a sharper fall in prices for housing and utilities.
In addition, the trend pointed down, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 1.6% in July (June: 2.1%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 0.7% in July from June’s 1.4%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.07% in July over the previous month, following the flat result seen in June.
