Latvia: Inflation rises in December
Consumer prices fell 0.2% from the previous month in December, following November’s 0.3% decrease. A breakdown of the sub-components showed the result chiefly reflected lower prices for clothing and footwear, furnishings, and miscellaneous goods and services, which more than offset higher prices for transport and food.
Inflation rose to 2.3% in December, from a 19-month low of 2.1% in November. Meanwhile, annual average inflation remained stable at November’s 2.8% in the final month of 2019. Lastly, harmonized inflation edged up to 2.1% in December, from 2.0% in November.
