Lithuania: Economic sentiment hits highest reading since January in October
Economic sentiment came in at 96.2 in October, up from September’s 95.9. October’s result marked the best reading since January. That said, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected improved sentiment in the industrial sector and healthier sentiment in the construction sector. In the meantime, confidence in the services sector was stable in October, while sentiment in the retail sector weakened in the surveyed month. Lastly, consumer confidence cooled in October.
Relating to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations improved, while the economic uncertainty index rose in October.
