Lithuania: Economic sentiment rises above threshold in August
Economic sentiment came in at 101.1 in August, up from July’s 99.8. August’s result marked the best reading since May 2022. Consequently, the index rose above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected improved sentiment in the industrial, retail and construction sectors. Moreover, confidence in the services sector and among consumers was healthier in August.
Regarding indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were healthier, while the economic uncertainty index rose in August.
