Lithuania: Economic sentiment rises to a near two-year high in May
Economic sentiment rose to 100.0 in May from April’s 98.2. May’s result marked the strongest sentiment since June 2022. Consequently, the index lies at the long-term average of 100, pointing to a balanced near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected improved sentiment in the services and construction sectors. Moreover, consumer confidence strengthened. That said, sentiment in the industrial sector declined, and confidence in the retail sector deteriorated.
Relating to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were healthier, while the economic uncertainty index rose in May.
