Lithuania: Decline in industrial activity softens in September
Industrial output slid 2.6% compared to the same month a year earlier in September, which was above August’s 7.0% decrease. September’s softer drop was partly due to a weaker contraction in manufacturing production. In contrast, mining and quarrying production fell heavily.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output rose at a more moderate pace of 0.5% in September (August: +4.4% mom). Meanwhile, the trend improved, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 18.6% in September, up from August’s minus 19.1%.
