Industrial output grew 5.6% compared to the same month of the previous year in June, which was above May’s 2.5% increase. The figure marked the best reading since August 2022. The upturn was primarily driven by an improvement in manufacturing and mining and quarrying output.
On a monthly basis, factory output increased 3.3% in seasonally adjusted terms in June, rebounding from May’s 2.3% fall and marking the best result since August 2022. Meanwhile, the trend improved sizably, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 16.5%, up from May’s minus 18.0%.
