Lithuania: Industrial production growth accelerates in January
Industrial production in Lithuania jumped 7.5% in January on an annual basis, notably up from December’s revised 4.8% growth (previously reported: +5.3% year-on-year). Strong and sustained momentum in the mining and quarrying, and manufacturing sectors were mostly behind the acceleration in industrial production growth in January; nevertheless, growth was reported across all industrial production sub-components in the month.
On a monthly basis, industrial production fell 1.1% in seasonally- and calendar-adjusted terms (December: -2.6% month-on-month). In turn, annual average growth deteriorated slightly in January, dropping to 6.7%, compared to the revised 6.9% (previously reported: +7.2%) figure in December.
