Lithuania: Harmonized inflation falls in August
Harmonized inflation came in at 6.4% in August, down from July’s 7.2%. August’s reading marked the lowest inflation rate since September 2021. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased at a softer pace in August. However, prices for transportation dropped at a less pronounced pace.
Annual average harmonized inflation fell to 14.9% in August (July: 16.1%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 6.2% in August, from July’s 7.4%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices fell 0.15% in August over the previous month, a smaller drop than the 0.21% fall logged in July.
