Lithuania: Harmonized inflation falls to over two-year low in September
Harmonized inflation came in at 4.1% in September, which was down from August’s 6.4%. September’s reading represented the weakest inflation rate since June 2021. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased at a slower rate in September, while prices for transportation rebounded.
In addition, the trend pointed down, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 13.3% in September (August: 14.9%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 3.7% in September, from August’s 6.2%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.70% over the previous month in September, contrasting August’s 0.15% fall. September’s figure marked the highest reading since October 2022.
