Lithuania: Harmonized inflation increases in June
Harmonized inflation rose to 1.0% in June, which was up from May’s 0.9%. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages decreased at a weaker pace in June, and price rises for recreation and hospitality strengthened. However, prices for transportation grew at a more moderate rate.
The trend pointed down, with annual average harmonized inflation falling to 2.4% in June (May: 3.0%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation grew to 0.7% in June from May’s 0.5%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.05% from the previous month in June, slowing down from May’s 0.30% increase. June’s result marked the weakest reading since March.
