Lithuania: Harmonized inflation rises to highest level since February in July
Harmonized inflation ticked up to 1.1% in July, above June’s 1.0%. July’s figure marked the highest inflation rate since February. Looking at the details of the release, housing and utilities prices dropped at a softer rate prices, and price growth for alcohol and tobacco plus communication strengthened. On the flipside, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages plunged at a quicker pace in July, and prices for transportation rose at a slower pace.
Annual average harmonized inflation fell to 1.9% in July (June: 2.4%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation ticked up to 0.9% in July from the previous month’s 0.7%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices dropped 0.12% in July over the previous month, contrasting the 0.05% increase seen in June. July’s result marked the weakest reading since December 2023.
