Lithuania: Inflation falls in June
Consumer prices remained stable in June on a monthly basis, following a 0.4% month-on-month increase in May. According to the Statistical Institute, higher prices for recreation and culture, transport, and alcoholic beverages and tobacco were offset by lower prices for food products and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as by prices for clothing and footwear.
Inflation fell to 2.6% in June, from May’s 2.9%, which was the first time inflation increased in four months. Meanwhile, harmonized inflation also moderated in June to 2.6% (May: 2.9%). In turn, annual average harmonized inflation ticked down from 3.6% in May to 3.5% in June.
