Lithuania: Inflation stable in October
Consumer prices rose 0.07% over the previous month in October, moderating from the 0.40% increase seen in September. The moderation was largely driven by falling prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. In addition, price pressures for transportation fell at a quicker rate while prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco goods also dropped.
Inflation came in at 0.7% in October, unchanged from September’s figure which had marked the weakest inflation rate since May. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down mildly, with annual average inflation coming in at 1.5% in October (September: 1.6%). Lastly, harmonized inflation fell to 0.5% from the previous month’s 0.6%.
