Consumer prices rose 0.3% month-on-month in May, edging up from April’s 0.2% increase. The print largely reflected higher prices for oil, although they were partly buffered by lower air travel fares.
Inflation came in at 2.1% in May, a tad below April’s 2.2% print. Meanwhile, harmonized inflation remained unchanged at April’s 2.2% in May and annual average inflation edged up to 2.0% (April: 1.9%).
