Luxembourg: Harmonized inflation recedes in September
Harmonized inflation ticked down to 3.4% in September, edging down from August’s 3.5%. The cooling of price pressures was largely due to slower growth in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. In addition, price pressures for transportation fell at a quicker pace. Moreover, prices for recreation grew at a more subdued pace.
Annual average harmonized inflation fell to 4.1% in September (August: 4.6%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation edged down to 4.1% in September, from the previous month’s 4.2%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.37% in September over the previous month, a smaller increase than the 1.89% increase seen in August.
