Luxembourg: Harmonized inflation returns in July
Consumer prices dropped a seasonally-adjusted 0.49% over the previous month in July, swinging from June’s 0.49% rise. July’s reading largely reflected falling prices for furnishings and household equipment as well as for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Inflation rose to 0.9% in July, up from June’s 0.7% and marking a four-month high. Meanwhile, harmonized inflation clocked in at 0.1% in July, contrasting June’s 0.4% fall in harmonized consumer prices, ending a three-month spell of falling harmonized consumer prices. Lastly, annual average inflation was stable at June’s 1.2% in July.
