Luxembourg: Harmonized inflation drops to lowest level since November 2023 in June
Harmonized inflation eased to 2.8% in June from May’s 3.2%. June’s result marked the lowest inflation rate in over half a year. The decline was broad-based, with reduced price pressures recorded for food and non-alcoholic beverages, recreation, transportation, and housing and utilities.
Accordingly, the trend pointed up mildly, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 2.9% in June (May: 2.7%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 2.2% in June from May’s 2.6%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices dropped 0.01% over the previous month in June, swinging from the 0.06% increase logged in May. June’s result marked the weakest reading since January.
