Luxembourg: Harmonized inflation eases in July
Harmonized inflation inched down to 2.7% in July, from June’s 2.8%. July’s figure represented the lowest inflation rate since November 2023. The sharper drop was largely due to a slower rise in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. Moreover, prices for recreation grew at a more subdued pace.
The trend was unchanged, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at June’s 2.9% in July. Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 2.0% in July from the previous month’s 2.2%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices dropped 0.41% over the previous month in July, coming in below June’s 0.01% fall. July’s result marked the weakest reading since January.
