Luxembourg: Harmonized inflation declines to lowest level since January in April
Harmonized inflation came in at 3.0% in April, down from March’s 3.2%. April’s figure marked the lowest inflation rate since January. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages grew at a weaker pace in April, while prices for transportation roseat a quickerpace. Meanwhile, housing and utilities prices increased at a weaker pace.
The trend was unchanged, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at March’s 2.6% in April. Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 2.4% in April, from March’s 3.1%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.47% from the previous month in April, picking up from the 0.17% increase logged in March.
