Malaysia: Industrial output growth ebbs in December
Industrial output expanded 5.8% year-on-year in December (November: +9.4% yoy). The notable slowdown came on the back of decelerating manufacturing and electricity and gas output.
On a seasonally-adjusted monthly basis, industrial production fell 0.7% in December (November: +3.0% mom), logging the worst result since July. Meanwhile, the trend improved, with the annual average growth of industrial production coming in at 7.4% in December, up from November’s 7.0% reading.
