Malaysia: Industrial production rebounds in November
Industrial production gained traction in November, increasing 2.0% on an annual basis, up from the 0.3% rise in October which had marked a six-year low. The result came in above market expectations of 1.0% growth. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial output was stable at 2.5%.
The uptick came on the back of a recovery in mining and quarry production due to strong natural gas output, while growth in the manufacturing and electricity and gas sectors gathered pace.
On a month-on-month seasonally adjusted basis, industrial production rose 1.8% in November, contrasting the 1.0% decline in October.
