Malaysia: Inflation remains stable in February
Inflation came in at 3.7% in February, matching January’s figure. February’s figure represented the lowest inflation rate since June 2022. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as for housing and utilities, rose at a faster rate in February. Meanwhile, prices for transportation and recreation services rose at a weaker pace.
However, annual average inflation rose to 3.6% in February (January: 3.5%).
Finally, consumer prices increased a seasonally adjusted 0.23% over the previous month in February, matching January’s reading.
