Malaysia: Inflation increases in September
Consumer prices rose 0.24% over the previous month in September, following the flat result recorded in August. September’s print marked the highest reading since March. The result was largely driven by rising prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Meanwhile, inflation came in at 2.2% in September, which was up from August’s 2.0%. Annual average inflation rose to 1.3% in September (August: 1.0%).
